This was my second book to read for my monthly challenge. I have been to Vietnam many times since the war and have always marvelled at the resilience of the people and the almost unanimously gracious welcome that I enjoyed both in South as well as North Vietnam. Interestingly, the bulk of the collection that was recovered is less accessible to the general public than the portions sold off to absolutist rulers which is now on public display. It is quite often said that there is "someone for everyone. Excellent for those interesting in John Brown (who is not the focus here).

My friends, children, and grandkids also enjoyed the book. The bad thing about this trilogy is that there is one more book to read. I've lost count of how many times I've read it.
